Indonesian identity card

The Kartu Tanda Penduduk, commonly KTP, is an Indonesian identity card (literally: Resident Identity Card). Separate versions exist for Indonesian and non-Indonesian residents.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Indonesian Law 23 of 2006 )〕 The card is issued upon reaching the age of 17 or upon marriage.〔 In the case of Indonesian citizens, the card must be renewed every 5 years.〔 For residents, the card's expiry date is the same as their residency expiry date.〔 Since 2011, the Indonesian government has implemented E-KTP or KTP elektronik which contains microchip on the card.
e-KTP card or electronic ID card is a document that contains demographic security systems / control both from the administration or information technology with a database based on national population.
Number in the e-KTP card will be used as the basis for issuance of Passport, Driving Licence (SIM), Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP), insurance policy, Certificate of Land Rights and the issuance of identity documents (Article 13 of Law no. 23 year 2006 on Adminduk).
Fingerprints are recorded from each compulsory ID cards are all fingers (of ten), but the data included in the chip only two fingers, the thumb and right index finger.

The electronic ID program is also one of the biometric industry’s most exciting projects which has made some stunning progress.
